What we look for, and how to reach us.
New DJs are how this night stays interesting, and we are always glad to hear from one. Café Kopi is a creative room and the night has a shape we look after — so there are a few things we hold to. Not to be awkward: it is the whole reason the room feels the way it does.
To be considered, one of these:
Down-tempo early, moving into house and deep house, then tech house, indie dance and other higher-energy sounds as the night goes on. We do not play main-stage or top-40, ever.
Sets run around half an hour and are mixed into one another with no break in the music. You are building a stretch of the night with the DJs either side of you rather than playing a slot and being done, so where you start and where you leave it matters as much as what is in the middle.
We do not take requests outside the evening’s genre. You need to be able to say no politely — that is part of the job here.
